Victoriia and Yurii are a young couple. Victoriia is four months pregnant, Yurii is doing his military training – he will soon depart for the frontline, but for now he is allowed to go home from the training ground once a week. The couple attempts to compensate for the time they will spend missing each other in the future by being together now as much as possible: they eat ice cream in the park, stroll through the evening city, organize a party and invite friends, fall asleep and wake up hugging each other. On the day of Yuri’s departure to the combat zone, his wife gives him a lift to the training ground, and then on her own returns to the empty apartment, feeling depressed.

To avoid falling into despair Victoriia is preparing for the birth of a child: she buys items and clothes for the baby, furnishes the room. Yuri is at the front. His life is full of danger, death can come at any moment. Victoriia works during the day and talks to her husband on mobile in the evening. She makes herself cozy in her bed, strokes her roundish belly and reads one of the Lord of the Rings books to Yurii, and he listens, lying in total darkness in a small foxhole he dug in a nameless tree belt.

Childbirth is closing in. Victoriia is afraid to give birth before her husband returns. In the meantime, he is sent on a combat mission, he has no network for a week. Will Yurii be able to survive and return home in time for the birth of his baby?
